Serve as Project Manager to guide the planning and implementation of the conversion to a new Integrated Library System in Collection Management. Provide on-going tech support to assist Collection Management personnel in developing innovative initiatives to improve workflow and solve problems related to acquisitions, cataloging, and special collections. Reports to the Coordinator of Collection Management.
Required:
Required: ALA accredited master's degree, a year of professional library experience, demonstrated technical experience with an ILS system, working knowledge of MARC format, scripting and programming skills, knowledge of technical services operations, project management skills, communication skills, customer service orientation. Ability to fulfill requirements for tenure and promotion
Preferred:
A candidate who is knowledgeable about systems and computing applications, who learns quickly and can work with library personnel at all levels of expertise. The candidate should be familiar with the routine functions of technical services, especially acquisitions and cataloging. Experience with either Voyager or Millennium (III) and its components is desirable. Measurable skills such as knowledge of XML, HTML, CSS, and languages such as SQL, PERL, PHP, JavaScript would be helpful.
