Building Lobbies and Conference Rooms

A number of large areas in the building are available for naming, reflecting the donor's support of library resources and services, and the library's importance in student education.

Special Collections

It is important to collect the historical and unique materials that enrich the educational experience. The library's new special collections area offers an inviting space where individuals can touch some of the library's rare and valuable resources.

Library Instruction Classrooms

The library plays a major role in teaching users how to find information and perform research. These classrooms will allow the library staff to make use of technological innovations in presenting lectures on accessing and retrieving information. Two rooms will be equipped with personal computers and other educational technology for instruction in library research.

Group Study Rooms

Student interaction on group learning projects is often important to understanding concepts introduced in class. These study rooms provide a conducive environment to learning, allowing students to discuss concepts and try out ideas in small group settings. Over forty rooms are available for group study.

Faculty Research Studies

The ability to perform research in an inviting setting with sufficient resources is important to faculty growth and effective teaching. Sixty studies are available on a semester basis, providing an environment conducive to faculty development. Study and research space in the library can be named to recognize gifts in support of library services. Through this program, individuals can help ensure the future of excellent library resources at MTSU.
