Ways to Help or to Give

Direct Gifts:

Cash gifts to the Library to enhance excellence can be made by credit card, cash, or check payable to the MTSU Foundation (for Walker Library). Gifts of books provide a way for the Library to expand its collection at no cost.

Honor a student, professor, colleague, or loved one with a gift of money or books.

Securities

The full-market value of gifts of appreciated securities is tax deductible. In most cases, appreciation in the value of the security benefits the Libraries and is not taxable to the donor.

Real Estate

Real property, either in its entirety or in part, can be deeded to The MTSU Foundation to benefit the Libraries. It is possible to arrange a sizable tax deduction by deeding a home to the Libraries, while continuing to occupy the property for life.

Charitable Gift Annuity

Donors may transfer money, securities, or real estate in trust to the Library and receive income for themselves or another, for life. The trust can be managed by The MTSU Foundation. Donors may receive immediate tax benefits, and ultimately the Libraries receive the trust property. Visit the following site MTSU Planned Giving Site for more information.

Bequests

In writing a will or living trust, donors can specify that they would like their estate to benefit the MTSU Library.

Matching Gifts

If you give a gift to the Library your employers may match that gift, doubling the impact that you are having on student education. To see if your employer has a matching program, contact Rhonda Stansberry, at (615) 898-5595, or send an email to: Rhonda Stansberry.

However you decide to help, know that all gifts, large and small, directly benefit students and enhance their education at MTSU.
