Who may use the Digital Media Studio?
First priority is given to students who are completing work for classes. Second priority is given to employees of the university (faculty, staff, and administration). Community members may use the computers and software, but may not check out equipment, use the color printer, or schedule individualized training sessions. Users who are not working with the specialized software may be asked to move to standard workstation if the lab is full and users are waiting.
How can I get help?
The Studio is staffed by librarians, specially trained full-time staff, and student assistants. Staff at the DMS desk will attempt to help users at the point of need. If additional training is needed, users can get comprehensive
online training, look at ebook and book resources or schedule a tech coach appointment.
Do you have a color printer?
Yes, we do! However, there are few caveats. First, only MTSU students may use the color printer. Second, it may only be used for legitimate academic purposes. And third, it is 50 cents a print. To use the color printer, save your print job to a usb flash drive and present it to the student assistant at the Studio help desk. He or she will print your job for you.
Do you have a laminator?
Yes! MTSU students can laminate documents that are no larger than legal size. The cost is $1.00 per sheet. Ask a Studio Assistant at the help desk and she or he will laminate the documents for you.
What can I check out at the Studio Help Desk?
The following items are available for check out in order to aid you with digital projects.
Dry Erase Markers for studio dry erase boards
Fire Wire (various configurations)
Scanner Film Holders for 35mm film strips and mounted slides
Headphones (studio use only)
What are the Studio hours?
The Studio is open all hours that the library is open. See library hours
