Placing Requests

If an item's status reads "checked out" or "renewed," you can place a hold or recall request on the item to reserve it for your future use.

At the item's catalog record, click the "Place Requests" button.

Fill in the information on the login screen. Your barcode is found on the back of your MTSU ID or other borrower’s card (Community, Alumni or TALC). The barcode number is 14-digits beginning with 23082. Your institution ID is your M number.

Then, select "hold" or "recall" from the drop down menu.

Generally, you will want to select "hold" if the item's status is "checked out," and "recall" if the item's status is "renewed" or "overdue." This is because a "recall" will shorten the loan period for the current borrower, but only if they have already had the item for more than 4 weeks.

You can manage your pending requests from the "My Library Account" page, accessed from the link at the top of any Voyager page.
