Should a student log off the computers at Walker Library and the release station when they finish printing?

  1. For security reasons each student should log off at the print kiosk after they finish printing. If you do not log off, other students can see your print queue. This leaves you vulnerable to identity theft depending on what you printed.
  2. For security reasons each student should log off the computers at Walker Library after they finish. If you do not log off and you send a job to the printer, your print job is in someone else’s queue and you cannot print it. This leaves you vulnerable to identity theft depending on what you printed.
  3. Not logging off also slows down the traffic flow at a kiosk.

How does a student check their campus wide print quota and add more pages to it?

  1. To check your print quota go to http://blueid.mtsu.edu and login with your pipeline credentials and it will give you the status of all of your categories, including Print Quota.
  2. Once you run out of Print Quota, the system starts taking money from your Raider Funds to cover the cost.
  3. On that same webpage you can add more dollars to your Raider Funds using a credit/debit card.
  4. You cannot add funds directly to your Print Quota.

What print jobs are refundable in Walker Library?

  1. If the pages printed are damaged by the printer, they are refundable.
  2. If the printing is blotchy or very light, it is refundable.
  3. If the patron did not mean to print the job, it is NOT refundable.
  4. The patron must show the bad pages in order to qualify for a refund.
  5. Please notify LTS if a student does qualify for a refund, preferably via a work order with the student’s M-number, full name, username, and the quantity of pages to be refunded.
  6. Again, if a patron did not mean to print the job, it is NOT refundable.

What if my computer does not show that it is connected to a printer at Walker Library?

  1. Restart the computer
  2. After a restart the computer will have to reconnect to the server. It will take 60 seconds until the computer is connected to the print server.

Does it hurt for a student to turn off a PC after they finish at Walker Library?

  1. When the first person of the days logs onto a PC it takes a while for the campus printer to be published to the PC.  The next person who logins in will not have that wait.
  2. If the machine is turned off or rebooted, it starts the whole sequence over again.
  3. Patrons should log off using the desktop Logoff Icon.
