The purpose of the Walker Library Proxy Borrower program is to support and facilitate faculty research. Because MTSU faculty and administrators are entitled to more generous Library privileges than other patrons, it is important that the privileges be used responsibly. Loaning identification cards or improperly utilizing proxy arrangements to enable borrowing for family or friends, colleagues or students is a violation of library policy and disadvantages other users who must abide by the Library’s policies and procedures.
Materials borrowed by proxies are charged to the faculty/administrator account and the faculty member or administrator is responsible for all materials borrowed, including losses or damage and any fines or fees that may result. Overdue notices and other communications are sent to the authorizing borrower and his/her account may be blocked if materials are not returned.
Proxy borrowing arrangements should be made with the Circulation staff at the Circulation Desk of the Walker Library. Proxy forms are maintained on file in the Circulation department for the duration of the semester.
