Part-time Temporary Librarians

Walker Library is establishing a pool of applicants to fill part-time temporary librarian positions that work flexible hours, anywhere from a few to up to 20 hours per week. These positions report to the Reference/Instruction Team Leader and the Department Chair, User Services at Walker Library.
 
Responsibilities: Librarians provide in-depth library research assistance on campus/in-person, online (email, chat), and via phone. This service is offered during days, early evenings, and weekends. Service-related data reporting is required. 
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to provide general and specialized reference service in person, via email, chat, or phone.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn and use key resources including the library’s discovery service, catalog, research databases, and Springshare web applications.
Knowledge of or ability to search in subject-specialized databases from a variety of vendors.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Evidence of ability to work independently and in a team environment.
 
Required Qualifications: 
Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of relevant work experience in an academic, school, or public library. 
Salary: Up to $20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
