Accessible only at the Center for Popular Music, Omdia is a platform that gives researchers access to the biweekly Music & Copyright newsletter that contains news, analysis, and statistics connected to various aspects of the music industry around the world. Omdia also has more individualized factsheets, reports, and data about the music industry through the Music and Digital Audio Intelligence Service.
You can access the Music & Copyright newsletter on Omdia by clicking on " My Dashboard" and then typing "Music & Copyright" in the search bar underneath "My research". Make sure you have "Only show content I can access" turned on to avoid running into paywalled content.
The Omdia dashboard search bar has advanced search functionality and supports Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) and wildcard searching. (For example, typing "music pub*" brings up "music publishing", "music publisher", "music publication" etc.)
The best way to find information in Omdia is by looking through the most recent newsletters, reports, and analyses, but it's also helpful to do keyword searches for topics you're interested in, like "music publishing revenue", "artificial intelligence", or even countries (France, Austria) and companies (Beggars Group, BMG).
