On July 31, 2025 our vendor, EBSCO, will be upgrading the search interface for our JEWL Search (run on the EBSCO Discovery Service/EDS platform) and EBSCOhost databases.

EBSCO has redesigned its platforms based on extensive user feedback and testing. The new design focuses on accessibility, ease of use, and helping you research more effectively.

  • Natural Language Search
    Ask questions like you would in a regular browser search.
  • Advanced Search Options:
    • Proximity Search: Find words that appear close together, use Boolean operators
    • All Terms (AND): Include all your search terms, applies AND 
    • Any Terms (OR): Include any of your search terms, applies OR
    • Smart Text Search: Paste an entire paragraph or citation to find the original source or quote.
