Opposing Viewpoints (Gale in Context) is a great place to find and explore topics, and to get great resources. If you need scholarly journal articles, try Academic Search Ultimate and others from the Magazine and Scholarly Articles box. On the Statistical Sources tab, Statista is great for finding charts, graphs, and data on virtually any topic. If you have any questions, check out the Ask a Librarian tab.
Specialized databases and websites explain issues within broader contexts and from differing viewpoints. This helps with understanding the "big picture" and can often help with forming ideas for narrowing topics.
