Students will create an outline for a potential research paper on a topic related to their disciplines. In this outline, they will set up the elements of their arguments, organize them appropriately, point to how their research supports their arguments with evidence, specifically link to the sources they will be using as their support, and specify quotes they think will be useful for that support.
After they complete an outline of the research paper, they should think about how the practice helps them prepare for writing the research paper and whether it is a practice they think they will continue using.
If followed up by writing the paper or with another project, they are transferring the skill and knowledge as well.
