Students will pick a scientific topic or experiment to explore. This should be something that they can ask questions about and test. They will do research on what others have found, how they conducted their research, what materials and procedure they used. Then, students will organize this information together in a lab report of their own.
This can be followed up by conducting the experiment and comparing their experience and data with that of their research.
Rather than a written lab report, students can create a how-to video for the experiment. With this alternative, they will be doing the lab experiment, so adding the comparison between their experience and that their research could be included either in the video itself as a segment or in a written addition to be included with the video submission.
