Karen Nourse Reed, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at Middle Tennessee State University. She has served the MTSU community since 2013 through her work as Walker Library's Education Librarian. Prior to MTSU, Karen was a school librarian in rural southwestern Virginia, serving a Title-I designated middle school of nearly 1000 students. She approaches education as a ministry, having experienced first-hand the power librarians have to provide meaningful assistance to young people. Karen holds a Master of Library & Information Science degree from UNC-Greensboro and a Master of Science in Education from Radford University (VA). She received her doctorate through MTSU's Ph.D. in Literacy Studies program.
