David Pelham
Dedicated readers of science fiction have likely seen David Pelham’s work. As Art Director at Penguin Books between 1968 and 1979, Pelham designed the memorable covers of novels by J.G. Ballard, Ray Bradbury, Alfred Bester, James Blish, and others.
But Pelham is also author of several dozen pop-up and movable books. If his most well-known titles are the humorous “Sam’s books” series— Sam’s Pizza, Sam’s Sandwich, and The Sensational Samburger —his Trail is a stunning performance that rivals the best of Sabuda’s work.
