Collaborative Research Software at MTSU

There are several options for software to assist with your research analysis:

Name Primary Type of Analysis What does this do? How do I get it?
NVivo    Qualitative NVivo allows you to upload your text, audio, video and image data collected through qualitative research techniques such as interviews, focus groups, and surveys. Once uploaded to NVivo, you can organize and code this data for emergent themes. You must create this coding on your own; NVivo does not assign codes.
  • Faculty can request a copy through ITD.
  • Grad students working on faculty research can use NVivo on an MTSU-tagged computer provided by their faculty advisor.
SPSS Quantitative SPSS is a statistical software platform. You can use it to run descriptive statistics and regression analyses. SPSS is a product of IBM.
  • SPSS is loaded on all public computers at Walker Library.
  • Faculty can request a copy through ITD.

SAS Quantitative SAS is a statistical software platform. You can use it to run descriptive statistics and regression analyses. SAS is a product of the SAS Institute.
