Basic Tips

Search multiple thesis/dissertation databases.
Most dissertations since 1990 are available online.
Many theses in particular are not available online and are only held at the institution where the thesis was completed.
Sometimes your only option is to obtain a thesis or dissertation through Interlibrary Loan.

Although limited to keyword search of titles, this directory is very useful for discovering dissertations in progress.

International organization that promotes the creation, use, and preservation of electronic theses and dissertations (EDTs). Website has resources for finding and submitting EDTs.
