JEWL Seed Library

The JEWL Seed Library is now open in the first floor computer lab at James E. Walker Library. User who require assistance using the seed library can consult the Library Service Desk immediately inside the library entrance.

Mission

The JEWL Seed Library seeks to provide the MTSU community with free vegetable, flower, and herb seeds to promote sustainability and healthy eating. The seed library serves as a unique educational resource that benefits both the campus and the wider community.

This project was initially funded by a grant from the MTSU Sustainable Campus Fee Program in 2025.

Core Values

  • experiential learning
  • wellness
  • sustainability
  • community
  • food access

Location

On the 1st floor of the library near the Reference Desk. The seed library is open all the hours the library is open.

How It Works

  1. Browse through the seed library and select up to 5 packets per week.
  2. Fill out the Check-Out Log with the seeds you're taking.
  3. Plant your seeds and enjoy watching them grow!

At this time, we are not accepting seed donations, but we may in the future!
