Dance in Video: Creating & Sharing Clips

Click on the "Sign in" icon at the top right. Login to your personal account
or create one.

Select a video and click Play.

Click the "Create Clip" icon at the bottom right of the video screen.
Enter a "Clip title" in that field and a description in the box below it.
Use the slider to set the "Start" and "Finish" times for your clip.
Change the "Visibilty" from "Private Only visible to you." to "Institutional"
Click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom right.

Sharing a Clip

Click on the "Sign in" icon at the top right.
Select "My Clips."

Select the clip you wish to share.
In the column on the right, click the vertical elipsis icon (Options) for your clip.
Select "Share."
Click the red "Copy" button for sharing "Via permalink" (1st option).
Paste the permalink URL into your document (clip will open in a browser window).

Freely available resources from the Jacob's Pillow website include:

  • Jacob's Pillow Archives - The online catalog allows searches by keywords such as dance title or name of choreographer, company, composer, performer, etc. Many items in the Pillow Archives, including thousands of programs and photographs, can be viewed online.
  • Jacob's Pillow Dance Interactive - An ever-growing collection of dance videos filmed at Jacob's Pillow from the 1930s to today, plus multi-media essays and a related podcast. Videos may be browsed by artist, era, or genre, or explored through curated playlists.
  • Pillow's Picks - A collection of sample itineraries, tips from insiders, behind-the-scenes exclusives, etc.
  • PillowVoices: Dance Through Time - A series of podcasts bringing listeners closer to notable dance artists connected with Jacob's Pillow, from 1933 to today.
