About the Listening/Viewing Center

The Listening/Viewing Center offers access to a vast collection of LPs, CDs, DVDs, streaming audio tracks, and streaming videos, as well as two listening/viewing stations, each equipped with a turntable, headphones, a computer accessible with your MTMail login information, and an optical disc drive. An LVC assistant is always available during the area’s open hours to answer any questions regarding the library’s collection of musical scores or the use of the LVC and its many resources. The LVC is located on the 2nd floor of the library in room 201B.

Music Online (from Alexander Street)
Cross-searches several music databases for text, video, and audio.

Searches African American Music Reference, Classical Music Library, Classical Music Reference Library, Classical Scores Library and The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music Online. Includes streaming audio.

Alexander Street Academic Video Online (AVON)
The AVON (Academic Videos Online) streaming platform provides on-demand access to over 60,000 streaming videos. Content providers include PBS, BBC, Sony Picture Classics, CNN, BBC, and more.

Digital Theatre+
A collection of theatre, musical theatre, film, opera, dance, and music productions. Includes live performances, study guides, plot summaries, relationship guides, and interviews with cast members, directors, and crews.
