Music: Reference Sources

Walker Library is here to support students and faculty as classes move online. Please visit our Remote Resources for Music page for ways we can help with music classes during this time.

Where are my books?

Books about music and musical scores are found in the Walker Library and the Center for Popular Music. Pay close attention to locations for results in the online catalog.

The Center for Popular Music uses Library of Congress (LC) classification. 

Walker Library uses the LC system for scores (printed music). Scores are located on the first floor near the reference desk.

Walker Library uses the Dewey system for books about music. Most books about music are located in the 3rd floor stacks of Walker Library. 

Reference books, such as the Grove encylopedias, are in the reference stacks on the first floor.
