Hometown Newspapers

Finding old copies of hometown news isn't always easy. Here are a few options. Ask a Librarian if you need help.

  • U.S. Newspapers in Microtext:  Search this list of newspapers by state. Take note of publication frequency and dates available. Go to Microtext (in the DMS) on the library 2nd floor to get help loading the newspaper film on special machines. You can make copies or download page images.
  • Chronicling AmericaSearch America's historic newspapers pages from 1836-1922 or use the U.S. Newspaper Directory to find information about American newspapers published between 1690-present.
