Tips For Finding a Volunteer Opportunity That is Right For You
Consider your goals
Do you want to meet new people, expand on your current interests or learn a new skill? Do you want to improve your community or would you rather travel and make a difference outside of where you live?
Self-reflect
How much time do you have to commit?
What causes are important to you?
What current skills do you have?
Do you want to work with adults, children or animals?
Would you rather work alone or work as a team?
Do you want to be behind the scenes or take on a more visible role?
Interested in volunteering at the shelter? On-site (& outreach) volunteers help PAWS maintain high quality care of the animals and continue life-saving work. There are numerous ways you can volunteer at the shelter.
Only through your efforts can we achieve our mission of providing food to people facing hunger and working to advance hunger solutions in our community. We need volunteers every day to help sort and pack food donations, prepare BackPacks for hungry children, as well as assist with special events and administrative support. When you donate your time to Second Harvest, you become a partner in the fight against hunger in Middle Tennessee.
We need YOU to help meet the demand for our vital healing and protective services. Volunteers and Donors are the center’s lifeblood. Your gift of time could enhance public knowledge of vital service areas, aid in critical fundraising events, help someone through a domestic or sexual assault crisis, or support overall operations of the safe shelter.
Peace Corps Volunteers work at the grassroots level to create change that lasts long after their service. As a Volunteer, you can make an investment in our world—one handshake, one project, one friendship at a time—that leads to new possibilities in service and when you return home.
Our communities are stronger when we come together. Thousands of volunteer opportunities are waiting for you. Make a difference: start where you are and when you can.
