Special Collections : Mack Prichard Collection

Special Collections is the rare book facility for Walker Library. Its mission is to acquire, preserve, and provide access to valuable, unique, and fragile materials.

Collection Overview

The Mack Prichard Collection was gifted to Special Collections by the Mack Prichard Foundation in 2024. Prichard was the first Archaeologist and later Naturalist of the State of Tennessee and was instrumental in developing the state’s conservation program and state park system. This collection contains Prichard’s personal library, administrative and organizational papers, publications, postcards, photographs, and miscellaneous papers.
