Special Collections is the rare book facility for Walker Library. Its mission is to acquire, preserve, and provide access to valuable, unique, and fragile materials.

Collection Overview

The Robert Allen Ragland Sr. Memorial Civil War Collection provides extensive coverage of various aspects of the Civil War, including the war in Tennessee and the Battle of Stones River. Composed of approximately 700 books and journals dating between 1826 and 1996, it includes numerous regimental histories, personal narratives, official accounts, and illustrated works. Texts in the collection date between 1826 and 1996.
